Preventative Care
Prophylaxis (Dental Cleaning)
A dental prophylaxis is a professional cleaning designed to maintain healthy teeth and gums and prevent future dental problems. During this visit, our hygienists gently remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains using the most up‑to‑date techniques and high‑quality instruments. This thorough cleaning helps prevent gum disease, cavities, and inflammation while keeping your smile bright and healthy.
Your appointment may also include a periodontal evaluation, personalized home‑care guidance, and dentist‑recommended radiographs to monitor your oral health. Most patients benefit from a prophylaxis every 3–6 months, depending on their individual needs. Regular dental cleanings are one of the most effective ways to protect your oral health and maintain a confident, long‑lasting smile.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride plays an important role in strengthening teeth at any age—reducing cavity risk and helping ease everyday tooth sensitivity. As we get older, our preventive needs naturally change due to factors like gum recession, dry mouth, and aging dental work. That’s why our fluoride options and recommendations are tailored specifically to your unique situation. At KDENTAL, our goal is to deliver thorough, personalized preventive care for every patient, ensuring your smile stays healthy and protected for years to come.
Sealants
Adult teeth often erupt with deep grooves and tiny pits that easily trap plaque, and even toothbrush bristles can’t reach all the way into those narrow spaces. Sealants are a thin protective coating placed on the chewing surfaces of the molars, covering these pits and grooves so the area stays cleaner and easier to maintain. Sealants are one of the most effective preventive treatments for protecting back teeth from cavities.
The best time to place sealants is typically when the permanent molars first come in, around ages 6 and 12. However, adults with deeper grooves and pits showing signs of slight cavities will highly benefit from sealants as well. Your dentist and hygienist will let you know when it’s the right moment to seal your child’s or your own teeth for long‑term protection.
